Typical families of the past had the man going off to work every morning and the woman staying at home to take care of the children and the home. Today it is very common and normal for both parents to go to work. More and more people are choosing to work from home and woman are leading the way. Work-at-home moms have been a staple for years, but work-at-home dads are also entering the mix now and changing the dynamic.
Money Saving
In an earlier article about work-at-home parents, I spoke about the advantages of parents who work from home and how this can be a huge benefit to families in many ways. Saving money is one of the main benefits, gas is now a bill that can cost families hundreds of dollars a month. Not having to use your car to commute back and forth everyday leaves you more money in the bank. Purchasing work clothes and other work related items is another expense that will save families hundreds of dollars a year.
Flexible Hours
Choosing your own hours and being able to work when you want is one the best advantages of working at home. If a person has to wake up an hour or two early to get to work and take hours to get home, they can now sleep in and and get off on time without missing any important family functions.
Telecommuting Jobs
Current technology is allowing employees to telecommute because many of the position’s tasks can be done online or over the phone. There is no need for extra employees to handle different jobs because computers can do it for next to nothing. The best jobs for telecommuting are obviously computer related jobs such as web programming, accounting and financing.
With both parents able to work from home, everyday and jobs will become less stressful and time consuming.
